Software scholarship available

The ISTNanosat team is looking at candidates for a scholarship for a master's student!

The sholarship’s purpose is to develop flight software for ISTSat-1, the first Portguese CubeSat developed by university students.

Work to be done

The final implementation of satellite functionalities according to specifications by European Space Agency’s (ESA) Fly Your Satellite! program. These include the mannagement of operational modes and the remotly controlled telemetry and control system
The specification and execution of the satellite’s functional and environmental tests. These tests will developed over the course of 2 to 3 weeks during 2020’s Summer/Fall at ESA’s facilities in Redu, Belgium

Qualifications

Have a bachelor’s degree and be enrolled in a mater’s degree at Instituto Superior Técnico
Be available to work in person at ISTNanosat’s facilities at IST’s Taguspark campus
Knowledge of embedded systems programming using the C programming language (candidates with experience in real-time operative systems are preffered)
Knowledge of Pyhton (candidates with experience using continuous integration and version control tools are prefered

This BIM (Bolsa de Investigação para Mestres, in Portuguese) scholarship, funded by INESC-ID, will have a 798€ monthly reward and a 10 month duration.
